VISION
Shelby County is a reading community where all children have books in their homes.

MISSION
The mission of Shelby County Books from Birth is to fully implement and financially sustain Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Shelby County.

GOALS
1.	To ensure that all Shelby County children are prepared to be successful in kindergarten and elementary school by planting the early seeds of literacy and education with free books from the Imagination Library.
2.	To give all Shelby County children a common early childhood experience through participation in the Imagination Library, bridging barriers that exist in our community.
3.	To promote healthy relationships between Shelby County’s young children and their parents or caregivers by encouraging them to read together on a regular basis.
